Ficus Carica, better known as Figs, is one of the most excellent yet underrated fruits in the fruit family. They are jam-packed with essential nutrients and health benefits, keeping your blood sugar under control.

Its chewy texture is similar to dates and tastes, just like raisins. The best thing about figs is that you can use it for many items, such as a butter paste, spread, jelly, syrup, and a natural sweetener, just to name a few.

One of my favorites is them being an additive to smoothies. Not only does it give a sweet appeal, but it also provides thickness and richness.

I will provide 4 delicious fig smoothie recipes that you can try out for yourself and get the great benefits of figs. At the same time, have a refreshing and delightful drink.


Recipe #1: Banana Fig Vanilla Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 Medium Banana
  • 3-4 Organic Dried Figs
  • ½ Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk
  • 1 small drop Organic Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Ice Cubes

  1. Pour almond milk into the blender.
  2. Take the banana and peel it, cutting it into half-inch slices.
  3. Take the figs and cut off the top stem, then cut in half.
  4. Place bananas and figs into the blender.
  5. Add vanilla extract and ice cubes.
  6. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy!

Recipe #2: Banana Fig-nut Cinnamon Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Banana
  • 4 Organic Dried Figs
  • 2 tbsp Organic Peanut Butter ( Preferably Crunchy)
  • ½ cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 shakes of cinnamon

  1. Cut the banana into half-inch slices.
  2. Cut off the top stem of the figs and split in half.
  3. Fill up the blender with the almond milk.
  4. Add bananas and figs evenly into the blender.
  5. Add the peanut butter in the center of the mixture.
  6. Add a small dusting of cinnamon.
  7. Add 3-4 ice cubes.
  8. Blend on high until creamy and smooth.
  9. Pour into a glass, add extra cinnamon dusting on top and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Banana
  • 4-5 Frozen Mango Cubes
  • 4 Organic Dried Figs
  • ½ Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk

  1. Add almond milk into the blender.
  2. Cut the banana into half-inch slices
  3. Cut off the top stem of figs and cut in half.
  4. Add bananas, figs, and frozen mangos into the blender.
  5. Add ice cubes.
  6. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
