It is raining heavily outside, so you’re stuck in the house figuring out how to make use of the next 6 to 7 hours, but your brain freezes with coming up with thoughts, so you decide to instead do the norm of a boring day, which is eating and sleeping. That is a great option if you’re hungry and tired, but spending 7 hours doing nothing will not only make you feel worse than you was earlier, but you will have that feeling of not having the chance of doing something productive, and you will go to bed having to deal with the long work week ahead knowing you didn’t take advantage of all the free time that you had. I will give you some things that any adult can do when you’re stuck at home with nothing to do, that will be very beneficial in the long run.

1. Create a personal spa session.

It can be hard to unwind after a long and grueling work week, let alone a day. But if you have the free time and no distractions, creating a personal spa session will help you. The first thing to do is to go to the bathroom and set up a few candles or change the light bulbs to ones that is less dim than the regular ones. Once you have set up the low light, fill up the bathtub with your favorite soaps and herbs, bath bombs are also a great option. If you’re not a fan of baths, a hot shower transitioning into a cool one is a great alternate. Once you add your speaker to the mix with some calming music or sounds, you have created your own personal spa that you can unwind for as long as you like. 2. Clean / Rearrange your place.

If you have a lot of time on your hands and is sick and tired of looking at the same things that you have seen for months, now is a great time to clean out and/or rearrange your house or apartment. For example, if you have a bunch of things in your storage room that Is piling up and needs to be sorted out, take the time and organize them. It is proven that throwing out old useless material that has no value will change your mindset positively, leaving you with the satisfaction that you have decompressed and ready to fill that empty space with material that contains positive meaning. The same thing can be accounted for when it comes to rearranging. You will kill a lot of time in the long run, and it will make your space a lot bigger and more comfortable.

3. Meal prep for the week.

Meal prepping for the week can be stressful sometimes, especially when you have to work throughout the week. 1. We all go through such days unfortunately. I, personally, read a book or exercise or try to come up with something. But some of the ideas you’ve mentioned in the post are great ideas, too. : )

  2. As someone who spends a lot of time at home, I will definitely be doing some of things more often. I have been meaning to read more!
Do you have any suggestions on how mt girlfriend and I can spend time home alone together? Any would be greatly appreciated.

    1. It depends on the time of day. If it’s in the afternoon, then maybe you guys can make lunch together and set up a mini-lunch date. If it’s at night then set up a movie session and rearrange the room to a real theater, along with a giant bowl of popcorn.

  3. Great Idea there, I still have a lot of unfinished books, haven’t been able to catch up. I will read books I guess, the spa thing is interesting. Yes, my house needs to be clean up and rearrange it but nowadays with kids, things are just so messy. Anyway, thanks for the recommendations.
